Google reportedly applied for a re-license exemption to the US government, to enable Huawei mobile to use its application services.
Huawei is blacklisted from using Google services since May 2019. This means that the newer Huawei Models doesn’t have your favorite Google Apps. Microsoft is the most recent company that has given the exemption by the US government to work with Huawei.
If the news is true, Huawei users will get the latest Android version and all the Google supported apps including Play Store, Gmail, Photos, and YouTube. Currently, all the older Huawei devices are still running on Android OS, but they are not receiving any newer Updates.
Huawei has its own alternative to GMS, but it’s not fully integrated as a substitute. Many users are downloading Play Store from the third-part website. Google warns people to not use such files as they are harmful to your mobile.
So far the ban is affecting both sides and it is possible that the government will grant the license.
