USB Implementation Forum (USB-IF) made an announcement about awarding Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup with “USB Fast Charger Certification”.
It means that the S20 lineup will have PPS (Programmable Power Supply) compatibility. PPS enables smartphones to manage thermal activities and offer a fast charging experience to the users. Many of the lasted smartphones are already equipped with this feature, and Galaxy S20 lineup is a new addition to the list. PSS featured smartphones work with USB Power Delivery standards.
The fast-charging certified smartphones, Galaxy S20 lineup, will work on non-standard voltages. It means the charging adopter will offer any output voltage as per the demand from S20 smartphones between 5V to 20V voltage ranges.
You will receive your Samsung Galaxy S20 with a 25W USB-PD charger. If you need a 45W charger then you will have to buy this separately. This news will surely make the Samsung users happy, the best fast charging experience is going to be amazing.
There are different fast-charging standard available, Warp Charge by OnePlus, VOOC Flash charger by Oppo, and few others.

All these different fast-charging standards are a confusing thing for the users. This recent move by USB-IF to grant a Fast Charging Standard Certificate to the Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup will surely set a single fast-charging standard.
