This Popular dating app leaked personal info of millions of users

Online dating apps are a trend of most European countries. People find quick dates on these platforms and sometimes their life partners too.

OkCupid is also great to mention in this genre with more than 20 million users worldwide. According to the CyberNews, the website is selling 5 million users’ personal info to third-party vendors.

The team of Cybersecurity found out that the last location ID of any user was accessible. It was easily available on the platform, giving access to people’s personal property, workspace or other places.

The location ID of user updates whenever they log in with the application. People use this app multiple times a day. By carrying out this process multiple times, the devs were able to find the exact location of a certain user.

CyberNews than shared the information with OkCupid back in January, the online function has been removed from the application. Still, there is no investigation for how long this was happening.
