Because of the rapid spread of the Coronavirus worldwide, where misinformation-based treatment methods are rapidly circulating, many fabricated stories about the spread of the outbreak are raising people’s anxiety.
In Western countries including the UK, rumors are circulating on social media that 5G and radio signals are also spreading the Coronavirus. In the wake of such rumors, people have set fire to the 5G towers in several cities across the UK.
According to BBC, rumors allegedly set fire to 5G towers in several cities in the UK after false rumors about the circulation of the virus were spread on social media.
The report said that although the 5G towers could not be confirmed in connection with the fire, it was not confirmed who opened the fire, however, police are investigating the matter.

The report said that the 5G towers in Birmingham, Liverpool and Mailing were set on fire and videos of the fire being burned on those towers also went viral on social media.
The Ministry of Science and Technology also in its tweet, after the events of the 5G Towers fire, explained that 5G had no role in the expansion of Corona.

In a tweet from the ministry, the inquiries regarding 5G were also shared, making it clear that the aforementioned technology does not spread the epidemic.
