The Mobile World Conference organization authority has decided to cancel the event because of the ongoing virus situation in china.
The mobile world conference is one of the biggest mobile events in the world. Each year, different mobile companies gather at an event and launch their flagship phones for the year.
Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo are also part of this yearly event. This year, things are not going as planned. The on-going coronavirus in china has affected many mobile companies in terms of sales.
MWC 2020 was planned from 24 February to 27 February in Barcelona, Spain. Today, the authorities have announced the event is canceled because of the fear regarding the novel coronavirus.
Companies have been canceling this event before the pre-MWC phase in Barcelona. Samsung already held its event “Unpacked 2020” on the 11th of February. Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus were also in the talk to host their own mobile event.
The GSM Association (GSMA), that manages and organizes this event released a press release last week stating that the conference will be held accordingly. Until today, the board decided to cancel the event.
There is no scheduled date for an event as of now. Some rumors suggest that GSMA will skip this event till next month.

Now it is up to the companies to decide either they want to host their own event or not. However, the GSMA states that they are looking forward to hosting the 2021 MWC event. MWC was a big event in the mobile world and is considered as an annual trade for smartphones since 2006.
