Samsung’s and affiliate companies, Samsung Technology and Advanced Research Labs (Star Labs) introduced the technology, called Neon, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

With this technology, virtual humans are created to look like real human beings and behave in the same way. They also have the ability to express emotion and intelligence. According to the company, Neon has graphic avatars that look and act like real human beings, and it’s not a duplicate of smart assistants, robots, surrogates, or humans who can’t tell the weather, nor when Abraham Lincoln died.

The company said, ‘Neon is not an AI assistant, but it is like us. That is, autonomous but virtual humans, who can learn from emotions and experiences. Unlike AI assistants, Neons does not know everything and does not have an internet interface to track the weather or play favorite music. ‘

They are designed to communicate and behave like real human beings, create memories and learn new abilities while also assisting in various tasks. The company says it can also work as teachers, financial advisers, medical care, actresses, interpreters or TV anchors.

The company says that although the habits of real human beings were taken for them to be seen and heard, they are like human beings, but they are not imitations of human beings present, but each neon has its own unique personality.

These avatars are powered by Neon’s 2 technologies, one of which is Core R3 so they can react as human beings quickly. While the second one is ‘Spectra’ that aids in intelligence, learning, emotions, and memory. Concerns have been raised about this technology that it can be used to produce deep face or videos affecting real human personality.

However, the company says that although these avatars are like any real human being, the technology behind them is different from the deep-face or face-matching technique. It said that Core R3 does not change any individual scene, video, or sequence, but rather helps to create a unique attitude and relationship with these neons.
