The smartwatch is named as Oppo Watch; it has all the premium specs that you can find on other high-end devices. Starting from the display of the watch, it has a curved AMOLED panel with 226 PPI and DCI-P3 color gamut. The device comes in 2 variant, 1.6-inch, and 1.9-inch minimal bezels.

The back of the watch is built with aluminum material and feature 2 buttons for interface and navigation. The watch also features tons of exercise sensors including sleep, heart rate analysis and ECG functionalities. It also 5ATM water-resistant.

The Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset provides enough juice to the watch to last for 40 hours on a single charge. The device uses an unspecified Android Fork paired with Oppo ColorOS as a skin.

Oppo is also bringing the VOOC charging, which is the best charging system in any smartwatch as of date. The system promises to provide 50% of battery life in just 17 minutes.

As per the company, there are two processing units in the watch, Snapdragon wear, and Apolo Co-processor. The apolo co-processor promises to maximize battery performance and the other will deliver power to the system. Oppo claims that the watch can deliver 40 hours of battery life on a single recharge, and on a power-saving mode it can extend to further 21 days.

The Oppo watch is announced in China and is available for pre-order in the Chinese market. The 46mm variant will come for $288 while the 41mm variant comes for $215.

Counterpoint Research recently posted a report on the most selling smartphone by the manufacturer in the world. Surprisingly with all the criticism from the audience, Apple is still at the top. Apple 6 devices are in the top 10 list with iPhone XR at the top and iPhone 11 claiming the second position.

The statistics of the report are based on market share. iPhone XR has a global smartphone market share of 3% with the iPhone 11 at 2.1% share. The next in the lineup is Samsung Galaxy A50 with 1.8% global sales.

The list of the best selling smartphone by region is also available. On a global scare, iPhone XR only topped the North America Region. In China Oppo A5 and in  Europe Samsung Galaxy A50 dominated the lead.

The top 10 smartphones mentioned along capture the 15% market share. 5G smartphones are still a no show in 2019 with 1% sales. It is expected that more and more 5G devices will take the lead in the future.

Oppo Find X2 was planned to launch in the MWC on 22 February, However, the launch is delayed until the sixth of March.The recent teaser shows clear crystal and high-resolution display features of this new smartphone.

Reuters reported recently that major smartphone makers like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are working together on a platform that works alike Google Play Store.

These companies are under the aspect of the Global Developer Service Alliance (GDSA), and the move appears to be an attempt to challenge the Google Play Store’s international monopoly.

Google Play Store is banned in China and Android users download apps from various app stores, most of which handle different companies like Huawei and Oppo,

But outside of China, Google Play Store is dominated, allowing developers to upload their software, on different platform.

Third-party app stores face difficulties as a result of this monopoly, and are now being challenged by the GDSA platform.

The GDSA’s Prototype website states that its services are planned to be introduced in 9 countries and territories including India, Indonesia, Russia and Malaysia.

According to the report, these Chinese companies are very strong in different regions, such as Xiaomi in India or Huawei Europe, and during the last quarter of last year, these companies sold 40% of smartphones worldwide.

This new platform will make it easier for developers to upload their apps to all stores simultaneously.

Google Play Store’s global dominance is an even bigger problem for Huawei, which lost Google apps and services, including a Play Store license, due to US sanctions last year.

Due to this issue, Huawei decided not to push its flagship phone Mate 30 for sale globally, while also announcing it to work on its operating system Harmony OS and as an alternative to Google services. Huawei invested one billion dollars to establish mobile services.

The Play Store is very important in Google’s revenue sources, which earned $ 8.8 billion worldwide last year.

The Chinese manufacturing company Oppo has its Inno Day event back in December 2019.

The main topic of the event was 5G technology, but the company showcased some gadgets for 2020. One of them was the oppo smartwatch. Now the president of Oppo shared the first image of the smartwatch.

From the image, we can see that the gadget will have a square screen with curved edges. There are also two buttons on one side of the smartwatch. From the rendered image, one cannot find the difference if it’s the Apple or Oppo watch. Because of both devices lookalike.

There’s a hole between the two buttons, which gives us a hint that the device will feature a microphone. Meaning, Oppo smartwatch support LTE barriers.

The big news is either the device will have a SIM slot or will it support eSIM, or perhaps maybe it’s just a voice cancelation system.

All we know so far is that the device will be launched in the Q1 2020, and given Oppo has said it will be joining the MWC 2020 conference in Barcelona.
