Huawei’s new flagship phones P40 and P40 Pro are being introduced in March, which will miss Google services and apps.

Huawei was blacklisted last year by the US government and has therefore missed Google services, Due to which the Chinese company introduced an app store by introducing mobile services while working on various services such as navigation.

But so far Huawei phones have not been replaced by Google search engine, where users can search for news, weather, and other results. Google is not as popular as a search engine as it is, but it seems that Huawei is about to hit the ground now.

According to a Forbes report, it was reported recently that Huawei Search is being introduced and will soon be made part of the Huawei ecosystem. This increase will be a major threat to the Google search engine as Huawei is currently the world’s second-largest smartphone company and millions of people use its device.

XDA Developers tested Huawei Search and said that it is a basic search app that helps only search the information, videos or images required. These developers said that Huawei search results cannot be compared to Google, Yahoo, Bing or others right now.

This software is licensed in Huawei’s Ireland branch and is compliant with GDPR regulation. For now, it may be premature to say that Huawei Search will prove to be a Google search or a Microsoft Bing conversion, but there is a strong possibility that the service will be able to progress slowly.

News of new Search Engine leaked when Google applied for a license permit to restore Huawei’s supply line to the US Department of Commerce

If Google services are restored on Huawei phones, it is unclear whether Huawei’s replacement apps and services will be discontinued, restricted to China, or retained across devices.

Counterpoint Research recently posted a report on the most selling smartphone by the manufacturer in the world. Surprisingly with all the criticism from the audience, Apple is still at the top. Apple 6 devices are in the top 10 list with iPhone XR at the top and iPhone 11 claiming the second position.

The statistics of the report are based on market share. iPhone XR has a global smartphone market share of 3% with the iPhone 11 at 2.1% share. The next in the lineup is Samsung Galaxy A50 with 1.8% global sales.

The list of the best selling smartphone by region is also available. On a global scare, iPhone XR only topped the North America Region. In China Oppo A5 and in Europe Samsung Galaxy A50 dominated the lead.

The top 10 smartphones mentioned along capture the 15% market share. 5G smartphones are still a no show in 2019 with 1% sales. It is expected that more and more 5G devices will take the lead in the future.

Huawei is blacklisted from using Google services since May 2019. This means that the newer Huawei Models doesn’t have your favorite Google Apps. Microsoft is the most recent company that has given the exemption by the US government to work with Huawei.

If the news is true, Huawei users will get the latest Android version and all the Google supported apps including Play Store, Gmail, Photos, and YouTube. Currently, all the older Huawei devices are still running on Android OS, but they are not receiving any newer Updates.

Huawei has its own alternative to GMS, but it’s not fully integrated as a substitute. Many users are downloading Play Store from the third-part website. Google warns people to not use such files as they are harmful to your mobile.

So far the ban is affecting both sides and it is possible that the government will grant the license.

Huawei has suffered from deprivation of Google services and other services including Play Store due to US sanctions, and that’s why the Chinese company introduced its app gallery last year.

And now the company has announced that Huawei App Gallery has a monthly subscriber base of 40 million and is the third-largest app store after Google and Apple.

Huawei App Gallery is a new alternative to its users compared to Google Apps and Play Store, which it says is available to more than 40 million monthly subscribers in 170 countries/regions. The store has the most mainstream apps and services.

Introducing Huawei’s new foldable phone Mate XS, the company’s CEO Richard Yu said, “Privacy is always at the heart of our philosophy, under your control, We’ve made privacy protection and cybersecurity a top priority in all our business operations. We also have tough privacy and cybersecurity solutions for the Huawei app gallery. ‘

He reiterated his commitment to developers bringing their apps to the company’s new app gallery, saying the gallery would be just as good as Google and the Apple App Store. “We will welcome developers from all over the world to join Huawei Mobile Services,” he said.

The Huawei App Gallery has an age rating system for child protection and filters out apps that are not age-appropriate. Similarly, there are various methods for protecting sensitive data and privacy such that biometric data is never processed outside of the Huawei device and users are given full control over personal data.

EMUI gives users control over app user permissions while all data is stored anonymously and locally.

Google Apps and Facebook Apps are not available in the Huawei App Gallery at this time, but there are 18 categories that include News, Social Media, Entertainment and more.

According to the company, if no app is found by the user, you can list the desired app name, which will be communicated to the user when available. According to the company, apps downloaded from this app gallery work better on the company devices, which is an open AI platform called Huawei HighAI.

Likewise, a feature called QuickApps is a new type of free apps that provides the user with powerful functions and automatic updates of HTML 5 pages, but the storage of consumer devices is minimal.

Quick Apps writes 1/5 percent of the code as compared to Android apps, which takes up less memory space; in simple terms, this feature can accommodate 2 thousand Quick Apps instead of just 20 apps in 1 GB space.

The ongoing competition for developing folding smartphones was a possible factor for Huawei Mate Xs to have a hardware alteration.

Mate Xs was a recent released however,it was originally a non-foldable smartphone. Now, the Mate Xs is a foldable body. Mate X was good enough but there was a need for upgrades its performance and design as well. The design was more like other smartphones present in the market.

The Mate Xs is more developed and better than its previous version. The foldable look is an admirable thing; it feels like you are holding a good piece of technology. Although, Mate Xs has not much to offer than Mate X except a few changes in design and performance. A total new foldable smartphone is expected to launch later this year by Huawei.

Huawei Mate Xs Specifications

Body: Aluminum frame and back with plastic front

Screen: 8 inches unfolded, 6.6 inches folded

Memory: 8GB/ 512GB

Main camera: 40MP/ 8MP/ 16MP

Selfie camera: Uses the main camera

Chipset: HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G

Connectivity: 5G, Bluetooth, Dual GPS, Dual SIM, USB-C

Battery: 4500 mAh 55W SFC

The major change besides notable changes in the chipset is the design of Mate Xs. The upcoming successors of Mate Xsare expected to have a more improved hinge design. The following paragraph will give you a more clear idea about the design of Mate Xs.

Huawei Mate Xs Design

The main thing in the design foldable display of Mate Xs. The display is 8 inches in unfold position with a screen resolution of 2200 x 2480 px The display size reduces to 6.6 inches in fold position with a screen resolution of 1148 x 2480px.

The Huawei has brought information about the material used in the makeup of foldable LEB this phone. There is a 2-layer polymer material on top of the LED with a function to offer strength and softness at the same time. This upgraded technology is making Huawei Mate Xs a good phone to experience.

On 11 February “The Wall Street Journal”, bring up the news in which, the United States pointed out Huawei for using illegal means to access mobile networks around the world.

This is not the first time such news has come out from the United States. In 2019, the US has banned the company due to similar concerns. The US government has consistently suspected Huawei over security issues. Once again, they say, the Chinese mobile company is a security threat for the region and all the necessary actions need to be taken.

United States officials claim that Huawei has the capability to secretly access mobile network around the world. Moreover, the Chinese tech giant has earned this ability since a decade ago.US officials claim that Huawei used, the legal interception provided only for the law enforcement agencies, to get access to different mobile networks around the world.

US Official`s Allegations

Advisor to national security Robert O`Brien says, “We have evidence that Huawei has the secret ability to access sensitive and personal information in the systems it manages and sells around the world”. This allegation is very critical among all the allegations made so far on Huawei by US officials.

Having access to personal and security information is one thing and misusing it is another thing, a more serious one. If US officials have proof to substantiate these allegations, things may go very wrong for the Chinese tech giant. However, so far, there is no evidence provided about the countries suffered by this security breach.

Huawei Officials Response

In response to these allegations, Huawei has recorded its stance. The Huawei officials have released their statement they said, “We categorically reject these latest allegations. Again, baseless accusations are repeated without providing any kind of concrete evidence”.

Read More: The UK ready to give Huawei a role in 5G network

Furthermore, Huawei officials said, the company has very strict rules pertaining to legal interception points, no official is allowed to access these doors.

Reuters reported recently that major smartphone makers like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are working together on a platform that works alike Google Play Store.

These companies are under the aspect of the Global Developer Service Alliance (GDSA), and the move appears to be an attempt to challenge the Google Play Store’s international monopoly.

Google Play Store is banned in China and Android users download apps from various app stores, most of which handle different companies like Huawei and Oppo,

But outside of China, Google Play Store is dominated, allowing developers to upload their software, on different platform.

Third-party app stores face difficulties as a result of this monopoly, and are now being challenged by the GDSA platform.

The GDSA’s Prototype website states that its services are planned to be introduced in 9 countries and territories including India, Indonesia, Russia and Malaysia.

According to the report, these Chinese companies are very strong in different regions, such as Xiaomi in India or Huawei Europe, and during the last quarter of last year, these companies sold 40% of smartphones worldwide.

This new platform will make it easier for developers to upload their apps to all stores simultaneously.

Google Play Store’s global dominance is an even bigger problem for Huawei, which lost Google apps and services, including a Play Store license, due to US sanctions last year.

Due to this issue, Huawei decided not to push its flagship phone Mate 30 for sale globally, while also announcing it to work on its operating system Harmony OS and as an alternative to Google services. Huawei invested one billion dollars to establish mobile services.

The Play Store is very important in Google’s revenue sources, which earned $ 8.8 billion worldwide last year.

The Chinese company plans to introduce a new platform in March, but could also be tainted by the spread of the Corona virus in China.
