Facebook has removed the Discover tab, simplifying its messenger app, which was introduced by the social network for the chatbot platform.

This new change to Messenger was announced in August last year and the revamped app is now being rolled out to consumers. Keep in mind that Facebook announced a complete redesign of Messenger in 2018, saying that the app would be simplified so as not to bother rich users of features.

The announcement was made by David Marcos, who is now the head of Facebook’s Block China division, while Stan Chodnowski is taking over Messenger. For this purpose, all business elements that users do not use are being removed from the app.

The Discover tab is located in the bottom right corner where business accounts are searched, most of which work on AI bots.

Instant games are being pulled along with Discover from Messenger and users can view them in the web version of Facebook. Facebook is promoting the People section in the redesign.

Who listens to the innovative atmosphere of Google, Facebook, and other well-known technology companies and still may not want to work there,

Like any other company, there are some restrictions to follow when you’re working on these tech giant companies. These well-known companies often find interesting information about employee benefits. The interesting thing is that the employees of these companies also have some restrictions which are usually not even considered in the offices.

Write it down

In an interview with Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, one of the world’s richest people, Amazon revealed that their employees are restricted from making presentations using PowerPoint and using paper pens. They should write down everything related to the problem.

The reason must be stated

Well-known technology company Microsoft employees are prevented from using the Google app and especially Google Docs. But if anyone wishes to do so, he is obliged to give it a “business reason”. Think about where and how much you have to do to use Google services.

Political conversation is forbidden

In 2019, Google issued a directive to its employees, stating “The work we are hired for is our top priority, avoiding focusing on other topics that are off the chart.” From search engines where you can get information to the world, employees just have to keep working.

Can’t get the iPhone

Employees are not allowed to use Facebook on their iPhone under a “semi-formal” order. The tension between Mark Zuckerberg and Apple Company CEO Tim Cook is said to be the main reason for the ban.

Fine-tune your English

The use of the well-known application Grammarly in English to help correct grammar and spelling errors is prohibited in Microsoft. Employees may not use it during work. This feature is available in Microsoft Office.

USB storage is not allowed

About IBM, a world-renowned computer maker revealed in 2018 that its employees are prohibited from bringing any device that can easily be transferred to the office, including a USB, SD card, and other electronic devices in which information can be stored.

Don’t worry about the environment in the office

Recently, a lot of interesting information came out about Amazon. Employees are obliged to not discuss the impact of the company’s environment and climate change during office hours.

Facebook will pay a fine of $550 million as a solution to a lawsuit over controversial face recognition technology.

The lawsuit began with tagging and identifying people by name on Facebook, which is still controversial in many European countries.

Following the advent of the technology on the social media platform, citizens of the US state of Illinois filed a lawsuit on Facebook because it violated some of the privacy laws.

The case has been ongoing since 2015, with the final result now coming out. Illinois citizens say in the petition that only the face can be identified by the police, otherwise, no one else has the right.

The case was reopened in 2018, and the US Supreme Court this month rejected the appeal for a review by Facebook.

Read More: Why does Mark Zuckerberg consider TikTok a real threat?

The lawsuit also includes a thousand state engineers who were or are still involved in several secret projects.

The US court also asked Facebook the interesting question of explaining the practical benefits of a face recognition option that Facebook could not satisfy the court.

Some states of US police departments use body cameras, but in some US cities, this practice is also illegal because of local laws.

Facebook rolled out a new feature in this regard named “Tag System“, where the app will automatically recognize your face and gives you a notification to tag yourself in the post.

This option allows users to choose themselves. Currently, this feature is only limited to your friend’s list or suggestions.

Facebook has been facing some real allegations previously. The tech giant company is under heavy review for privacy-related matters.

Now Facebook will pay $550 million to resolve the dispute for facial recognition.

This feature is to provide users with the convenience of deleting browsing history, which the company uses to personalize ads and is now finally introduced to all users. Facebook has named it the off-site Facebook Activities Tool, which gives third-party site data summaries (used to display targeted ads) and data blocking.

You can find it in the Your Facebook Information section in the Settings menu of the Facebook mobile app or desktop site.

In fact, you will be amazed at how much Facebook knows about your online activities. This Facebook feature also lists how many times you visit a website and clicking on a name will tell how the company knew it and what they did with this information.

The data acquisition process from Facebook will continue even after this cleanup and will stop when you do not use the opt-out option that is hidden in the Manage Future Activities page on the right side of the website version.

If you turn off data collection from Facebook, you will see the same ads as before, but they will be less personalized. But this is to provide the user with some transparency and even some degree of control over Facebook in order to prevent unnecessary data collection.

Wall Street Journal reports, Facebook decides to withdraw from early plans to place ads in WhatsApp and the team formed by the company in this regard has been dissolved and their work has also been deleted with the WhatsApp code.

In May 2019, Facebook announced that they will allow third-party ads in WhatsApp starting from January 2020. Facebook intends to make advertising part of WhatsApp status, but currently, this app will be ad-free.

WhatsApp is an ad-free application from its inception, however, in 2014, Facebook began to make changes when it purchased it for $ 22 billion.

Read More: Did Saudia Hack the phone of Amazon CEO?

WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton, who left Facebook in 2017, said in 2018 that Mark Zuckerberg has been planning to earn revenue through targeted advertising in the WhatsApp.

According to Brian Acton, they decided to leave the company because of such advertising. Also, WhatsApp co-founder John Kum said goodbye to Facebook in 2018.

WhatsApp developers worried about advertising plans would weaken WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption system. In addition to the ads, Facebook is also working on the WhatsApp Business App Translation, which allows businesses to connect with consumers.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced last year that Facebook, Instagram, and the WhatsApp will be integrated gradually and the introduction of ads into encrypted service is proving to be a challenge.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made it clear last year that he didn’t like TikTok, but now it’s clear why he’s worried about the Chinese app. In fact, the popularity of Tiktok is also growing so fast that Facebook’s problems are understandable.

According to the online company Sensor Tower, Tiktok was downloaded more than 73.8 billion times in 2019 and beat Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram in this regard. The next app in the lineup is Whatsapp, a Facebook-owned messenger app.

Read More: Facebook helped Trump win the last election and it’s all happening again

The report states that TikTok has chocked more than 1.65 billion downloads in the fourth quarter of 2019. The app download growth has been increased by 13% from last year. Certainly, it is not a dynamic user downloader, but statistics indicate the popularity of the application has increased, especially in China, where Facebook is not allowed.

In China, Tiktok is known as Douyin which is the second-largest market for ByteDance in the United States. Facebook’s concern can be gauged from the fact that it copied some of Tiktok’s features into its own apps, Instagram.

Instagram has adopted this same strategy, targeting Snapchat and introducing stories where Snapchat was not available. Instagram also favors the US government over Tiktok as the app is being scrutinized by US officials.
