The mobile gaming industry is now the largest segment in the world with a $68.6 billion increase in 2018, most of which comes from Android and iOS smartphones.
The PC and Console users are always on the verge of the war of just one topic, which platform is best for gaming. With newer hardware upgrades, stunning graphics, and gameplay mechanics, PC users were always on the top. Now a third-platform has entered the race, the smartphone gaming industry.
It’s not a platform that can beat the visualization and hardware support of PC and Console; still, it’s rocking the gaming industry.
Mostly because of the reason that smartphones are getting cheaper and cheaper every day. In 2018, the smartphone gaming industry was valued at $68.5 billion.
Now the expert suggests that the prediction for mobile gaming will rise next year, extinguishing Browser PC games in 2020.
The 2018-2022 statistics chart shows that most of the revenue comes from the iOS device. Android, on the other hand, will surpass Apple’s platform by 2023. Clash of Clans was the highest-grossing game in terms of revenue in Apple’s App store history.
Most of the game-related revenue comes from in-app purchases and video ads. For commission, most developers use video and display ads on mobile games.
VR on the other hand (available on all platforms) struggles to make its appearance on the list. AR revenue will overtake VR gaming by next year (statistics). As more mobile developers are working on AR technology, rather than VR. Currently, PlayStation and PC game developer companies are working on VR.

This is something that I wanted to add to our community. Clash of Clan’s overall revenue was $2.5 billion whereas GTA 5 surpassed $6 billion track mark since its initial release. Next in the lineup is the Rockstar utmost gem, Red Dead Redemption 2. A total of $1.38 billion in the first quarter of 2019. Making it the most valued game of all time.
I myself is a full-time PC gamer, but the way things are changing, I think most companies will now work on mobile gaming. I feel for my brothers that have Console and PC, may the gamer girl bathwater runs in your bloodstream. Peace out!
