At a time when Facebook is facing an ‘unusual’ demand for its services, the company is encouraging consumers to help their neighbors.
The most popular social networking site has announced an extension to its Feature Community Help to those affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. Following this new update, Facebook will be able to offer affected goods to users through various posts such as transport, rations, children’s goods and more.
Likewise, if someone needs help or support, he or she can post his or her own needs by filtering people’s posts. This page will also link to fundraisers and Facebook’s Corona Virus Information Center.
This feature is currently being introduced in the US and will be rolling out to the UK, Australia, Canada, and France in the next few days. However, the company says it will be available to consumers in other countries around the world in the coming weeks.

This feature was previously available to consumers during Crisis Response Tools as a natural disaster. But these tools are usually localized by Facebook for areas affected by a natural disaster or emergency. This community help feature is different. The Coronavirus information hub has also been introduced on its Facebook application as well as its messaging application Messenger.
The messenger statement said that the center will provide users with resources to help them connect with their friends, family, office colleagues, students, teachers, and others during the home quarantine.
